Having application issues or concerns with your level instrumentation?

We had a Plant Manager from an energy company in the Northeast US reach out to us not long ago, with a specific request:
"We would like to upgrade old Eye-Hye level indicators to the latest version of Eye-Hye. We would like to get someone to come onsite and walk down what we have and get a proposal to upgrade to the newest version of Eye-Hye drum level indicators."
Our Regional Sales Manager, along with our territory representative, went onsite to walk down the units and develop a custom solution. We're happy to report the facility will be moving forward with the proposed Simpliport® 180 and Eye-Hye® SmartLevel™ upgrades.
From a Specific Request to a Custom Proposal
What's worth noting about this inquiry is how specific it was. The Plant Manager didn't ask for a general consultation - he knew he had aging Eye-Hye indicators and wanted the current version, with an onsite walkdown to properly scope the upgrade before committing to a proposal.
The response matched that specificity: rather than sending a generic quote based on the request alone, the Regional Sales Manager and territory representative went onsite to physically walk down the existing units. This kind of direct, in-person assessment is what allows a proposal to reflect the facility's actual installed condition - connection types, accessibility, existing wiring, and any site-specific factors - rather than assumptions based on a phone conversation.
Why the Proposal Included Two Products
The final proposal combined Simpliport® 180 and Eye-Hye® SmartLevel™ upgrades - not just a like-for-like Eye-Hye replacement. This reflects what a proper walkdown often reveals: an upgrade opportunity frequently touches more than the single system that prompted the original inquiry. A facility asking specifically about Eye-Hye indicators may also benefit from addressing direct-reading gage glass visibility at the same time, since both systems typically work together as part of a complete boiler level indication approach.
Why Onsite Walkdowns Lead to Better Proposals
A proposal built from an onsite walkdown carries a different kind of confidence than one built from a written request alone. The Regional Sales Manager and territory rep could see exactly what was installed, identify related opportunities the original request didn't mention, and scope a solution against the facility's real conditions - the kind of engineering partnership that produces a proposal a plant manager can commit to with confidence.
