Float & Probe Type Cast Iron Water Columns
Cast Iron Water Columns can be used up to 250 PSI
There are 3 purposes for Water Columns:

Support 1 or 2 water gage glasses

Float type high & low alarms
-
Probe type for alarms and low water cutout
Water Columns are not required on Power Boilers by ASME Boiler Code, but when specified, must be designed and manufactured to comply with Code.
Water Columns are considered to be a Standard Pressure Part as defined in PG-11 of the ASME Boiler Code. A code stamp or outside inspector for manufacturing is not required. Code recognized materials, qualified welding procedures by qualified personnel, and hydro testing are a must.

Column W0250 provides water gage centers that can vary upon specification from 13 ½” to 23”. Top or side steam and water connections can vary upon specification from 11 ½” to 22”.
Conversion Columns All Reliance cast iron, float type columns serving pressures to 250 PSI can be converted to accommodate a probe cap. This conversion brings low water cut-out controls, as well as high/low alarms, to converted columns. Consult us for more details.
